Romina Aseglio-Gianinet
Graduated in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Turin and in Chemistry from the University of Eastern Piedmont, Romina Aseglio has been qualified since 2023 as an Italian and European Patent and Design Attorney before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. She is also a qualified European Patent Litigator, representing clients before the Unified Patent Court.
Since November 2015, she has been working as a patent consultant, gaining extensive experience in IP firms and advising Italian and international clients on the management and strategic development of patent portfolios across a range of sectors, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food, and life sciences.
Earlier in her career, Romina Aseglio carried out academic research in biotechnology at the San Giovanni Battista Hospital (Molinette) in Turin, and worked in chemical laboratory analysis for companies based in the Piedmont region.
Her practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications at Italian, European, and international level, conducting patent searches, and providing opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement, as well as handling oppositions and patent litigation matters.
