Maria Gabriella Tana
Maria Gabriella Tana received the Laurea Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. She received also a PhD in Bioengineering from the same University.
Before beginning her work activities in the patent matter, Maria Gabriella performed academic teaching and research activities in the field of electronic and IT bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. During this period she collaborated with the Institute of Molecular Bioimaging and Physiology of the National Research Council of Italy, the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology of the Hospital Júlio de Matos in Lisbon, Portugal, and the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Leuven, Belgium.
She is European and Italian Patent and Design Attorney, before the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM) , and she has obtained the Certificate on Patent Litigation in Europe from the Politecnico di Milano. Her activities and experience concern both the electronic and mechanical patent fields. She deals with the drafting and prosecution of applications of patents in Italy and abroad, as well as the registration of designs and models. She also carries out patent searches, patentability analyses, technical-legal activities of surveillance and support in judicial proceedings.
She is Member of the Italian Industrial Property Consultants Institute and of the Association of Engineers in the Milan District.
She is author of numerous peer-reviewed paper in international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters in the field of electronic and IT bioengineering. Moreover, she has been a speaker in international conferences, as well as referee of international journals in the same field.
