Giorgio Alessandro Karaghiosoff

Graduated in Physics, specialised in Plasma Physics, Astrophysics and Biophysics, at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany and the University of Genoa, Italy, Giorgio has been working in the sector of patents and patent law since 1976. His broad knowledge of technical activities extends from mechanics to IT technology (hardware and software), in particular to interlocking and control systems of railway traffic, biomedical diagnostic imaging equipment, image processing systems and CAD, robotics and mechatronics, and is expert in artificial intelligence systems, and equipment for submarine and naval engineering activities.

Giorgio works in the identification and description of company innovation and technological know-how, the analysis and definition of protection strategies both territorial and relative to the applications of patents, trademarks, designs and models, copyright, Know-How, and industrial secrets and their synergies. He is an expert in technological and patent mapping research and analysis. He deals with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in Italy and abroad. He also carries out legal technical support activities in judicial proceedings and protective measures before Italian Law Courts specialised in Intellectual Property and CTU for different Italian Law Courts.

He has taught courses on Industrial Property organised by Universities, technological centres and districts, Public Authorities and companies.

He is accredited Attorney at the Italian Patents and Trademarks Office (UIBM), the European Patents Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) for applications of international patents, designs and trademarks, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for community trademarks and designs.

Member of a working group of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) at the Association of Industrial Property Consultants.
Pre-selected Candidate as “part time” technical judge for the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
